Good Peoples is VERY excited to present our summer boat series - Summer Sail. All Disco, all Vinyl, all awesome.  The last Friday of every month come join us on the Clipper City Tall Ship that docks at the South Street Seaport for a 2 hour sail around the NY Harbor while you listen to the best tunes.

LLOYDSKI:
Brooklyn legend, party king, and vinyl dork Lloydski has quite a reputation. A walking encyclopedia of dance music and a long-time member of the Turntable Lab family, Lloydski is usually on his bike headed to the next dancefloor. If he is not behind the tables slinging rarities and classics, he might be on the mic with Da Hardy Boyz. Or he could be dressed as King Louis XIV drinking a 40oz. You never know with Lloydski.

Rising out of the basements of junks stores and record shops, armed with more than ten years of DJ experience, Vin Sol’s masterful live sets, production, critically acclaimed mix tapes, and dedication to the tradition of party rocking have made him one of the most influential and in demand DJs around. Born and raised in San Francisco and currently residing in New York, Vin is known as a master of the profession with a forward thinking approach to DJing and an unusually deep knowledge of music history. These skills collide in his production, whether it be with his group Caligula or his own projects. Influenced by the Bay Area’s diverse music scene of the 1990’s, Vin began digging for rock, soul, funk and disco, club and hip hop records as a kid and his legendary collection will never stop growing.

At this point I’m sure you’ve heard all the twitter and press buzz, that last week’s subMercer was pretty off the hook.  Maybe you even saw the photos!

On top of the usual Good Peoples & subMercer fam, we celebrated my homeboy Kareem Black’s Birthday and hosted an after party for the Witzenhausen gallery…but the thing that really made the night what it was….was the music.

I’m not sure what happened that night, maybe it was the magic of all the great people in the room, but when our resident Jacques Renault got together with your favorite DJs’ favorite DJ - My Cousin Roy…something amazing happened.

One of the things I love about sets recorded live, is that as I listen to them I remember that moment in the night where I heard that track that made me look up, or creep up behind the DJ booth, or dance a little extra or just smile to myself realizing how special and awesome this 2 year long monthly has been.

Lucky for us, our boy Nik Mercer from Anthem Magazine, recorded the night… and now we all (my fav dream team): Jacques, Nik & Anthem, Roy, myself, Gabby & subMercer are excited to present this to you for FREE download.

Have you been put on to Prince Terrence’s new project Hussle Club yet? I’ve always admired Prince Terrence for embodying his music at every level of his lifestyle and his band Hussle Club is no different. He rolls through downtown NY like a rockstar, and actually backs it up.
